About the Attorney
James Elkins was born and raised in Palm Beach County and attended King's Academy. He graduated from Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina in 1986. He graduated from Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University in 1990. He then joined the Public Defender's Office and worked in both county and circuit court until 1994. After his stay at the Public Defender's Office he went into the private sector joining Vassallo, Garcia & Garcia Law Firm as an associate and later as a partner. Now James runs his own law firm, James S. Elkins, P.A. Attorney at Law.
Mr. Elkins participates as a volunteer advocate for the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County where he earned an "Attorney of the Month" award for the month of January 2003. In 1994 he also received the "And Justice for All" award. He has also been involved in the representation of indigent clients from Café Joshua. Mr. Elkins is an active member of the Florida and Federal Bars and has been a member of the following legal associations that deal primarily with criminal law: Palm Beach County Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. |
